VIA’s Strategic Planning Task Force formed in January 2017 tasked with the responsibility of reframing VIA’s vision and mission statements, and developing a framework for a Strategic Plan. Comprised of select members from the Board of Directors, the group represents diverse practice areas of the business community.

The plan approved by the Board of Directors in April 2017 identified several strategic directions, which were outlined by measurable objectives. Each objective was made operational through well-defined, specific tactics to be implemented.

Together the objectives and tactics provide:

• a blueprint for moving VIA forward in the various strategic directions, and
• a basis for measuring progress in implementing the plan.

Moving forward, much of the implementation work will be done by established committees. These committees will be an important mechanism for broadly engaging the business community and other stakeholders.
