Not only is VIA focused on Connecting our members, but we also work hard to support the educational needs of SCV employers – by providing pertinent educational opportunities to the emerging and existing workforce.

These programs may complement or be in addition to programs currently offered by standard educational institutions.

VIA’s focus is both on helping to provide resources and opportunities for our Members to advance their knowledge, as well as helping to prepare the future workforce of the Santa Clarita Valley.

Beginning with a few hundred students from Valencia High School, Connecting to Success has grown into a program that is replicated in communities across the nation.

Participating High Schools in the Santa Clarita Valley:

  • William S. Hart
  • Bowman
  • Golden Valley
  • Saugus
  • Valencia
  • Saugus
  • West Ranch
  • Academy of the Canyons

The Valley Industry Association has created an SCV Leadership Program to assist in satisfying the goal of preparing the next generation of VIA Committee Chairs and Board members with the ultimate goal of creating a continuing pathway to successor development for the organization and the business community as a whole.

The program fully acquaints participants with the work of the Valley Industry Association (projects, committees, programs, events, goals, and objectives) and the steps toward leadership roles (Committees, Board of Directors, Executive Board, Chairmanship).

Guest speakers discuss various aspects of leadership (i.e., The Importance of Vision, Local State & Federal Players, Leadership Ethics, Political Acuity, Communicating as a Leader, and much more….). Participants are provided recommended reading, homework, and team projects related to the topics.

Program participants will advance their business acumen while establishing valuable relationships with key community contacts and leaders (i.e. VIA Board, Educators, Elected Officials, Economic Development Corporation, SCV Chamber and Latino Chamber Leaders and others).
