Julie Weith Smith is the founder, president, and lead consultant of CHRS and has successfully provided human resources for more than 25 years.

She has a bachelor’s of science degree in business management and an MBA with a concentration in human resources management from Ashford University. Julie is PHR and SPHR designated which identifies depth and breadth of HR knowledge on a national level, with her primary area of expertise being maintaining compliance with state and federal complex employment regulations.

CHRS was founded in Southern California and moved its headquarters to the Atlanta area in 2009. Julie maintains an office on the west coast to facilitate the many California clients that CHRS services.

Throughout her career, Julie has been acknowledged for her innovative approach to identifying creative solutions to HR issues that plague employers, especially those who conduct business in states that follow strict employment and labor regulations such as California. CHRS currently services clients in 21 states and is growing.

In 2009, Julie was honored as one of the Top HR Professionals in the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal – and the only human resources consultant who received an award – the other recipients were practitioners. She was also honored at the Women in Business Leadership Awards and the Business Rising Star Award for 2009 and 2010.

Julie is a regular contributor to the Santa Clarita Valley Business Journal, authoring its monthly HR Column. She has also contributed as an industry expert guest on local radio talk show programs and publications and newspapers. Her topics include those related to marketing oneself in the labor market to the impact of economic changes to the workforce.

Justin Veyna is VP Employee Benefits Risk Advisor at Barkley Risk Management & Insurance Services headquartered in Oxnard, CA. As an employee benefits consultant, he work closely with my clients to help them become more proficient with managing their employee benefits package by focusing on cost containment strategies, benchmarking and most importantly employee education. His objective is to provide solutions to our clients that mitigate risk, generate revenue, and result in employee and client satisfaction. He specializes in all facets of Employee Benefits and Risk Mitigation.

Justin has 17 years of Industry experience working for insurance carriers and as a broker.  He works closely with his clients to help them become more proficient with managing their employee benefits package by focusing on cost containment strategies, benchmarking and most importantly employee education. My objective is to provide solutions to our clients that mitigate risk, generate revenue, and result in employee and client satisfaction.

Sean Copeland is the Managing Director of Property & Casualty Division with Barkley Risk Management and Insurance.  He has 18 years experience in the insurance industry.  He currently hold designations as a Certified Risk Advisor (CRA) and Accredited Cyber Risk Advisor (ACRA).
