Mission

VIA and JA’s mission is to inspire kids to achieve at the business of life through a community-based partnership of educators, volunteers and businesses.   This proven curriculum, which is provided at no cost to schools, enables parents and caring business professionals to share their experience with students and to show them what it takes to be successful.

With looming educational budget cuts, we are seeing a rise in class size and increased demands on student achievement. To help offset these challenges, JA—a worldwide leader in business and education partnerships—is planning to double the amount of students served in the Santa Clarita Valley, reaching nearly 10,000 students.

Connecting to Success programs will provide opportunities to:

• recognize the importance of developing effective interpersonal skills in the student’s work and personal life.
• assess student’s current level of interpersonal skills through a videobased assessment that challenges them with real work situations.
• participate in activities designed to develop the skills of building rapport, influencing others, and teamwork.
• participate in career preparation activities that will equip students as they enter the world of work.
