Morning General Session:
This session will excite the students about the importance
of connecting to their futures.
Breakout Sessions (Students
will rotate through each session)
Connecting to the Workplace &
ETHICS
Through case studies and personal reflection, the students
will explore their beliefs, values, and ethical principles
as they relate to the world of work. The students will
assess their current level of knowledge about school
and workplace expectations. They will also analyze ethical
dilemmas common in school and the workplace . . . and
develop a personal code of ethics.
Working in Teams
The students will apply teamwork skills by performing
an activity that requires working together to reach
a common goal. The students will recognize that collaboration
is necessary to achieve desired results. They will also
identify factors that enhance or impede team performance.
Finally, the students will apply guidelines for effective
team performance to their own school or work situations.
Communicating Your Value &
Presenting Yourself
The students will learn to communicate their skills
and experience using a variety of career preparation
tools. The facilitators will show the students how to
complete job applications, prepare work histories, write
effective letters and resumes and organize their skills
portfolios. The students will also learn techniques
for presenting themselves effectively and practice preparing
for interviews with peers.
